System Engineer: One year term position

Job Description:

Our west end client requires a System Analyst to support a team at that is supporting Cyberklix Firewalls.

Requirements for the position include, but are not limited to the following:

Experience supporting and maintaining firewall devices in a 24/7 mission-critical environment.

Working knowledge with *nix-based firewalls such as McAfee's Sidewinder would be considered an asset.

Knowledge of TCP/IP and network security policies.

Firewall capacity planning & performance analysis.

Strong analytical skills. Must be able to work independently to solve moderately complex issues under pressure.

Strong communication skills. Must coordinate and work with multiple parties while maintaining a customer service attitude. Should be able to explain complex information in layman's terms.

Monitoring of system backups and health.

Problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and Windows Server OS issues.

Analyze day-to-day processes for areas and methods of improvement.

Familiar with change management best practices

VMware experience will be considered an asset.

The successfull candidate must be available for a 24/7 on-call rotation.

This a one year term role with a salary range of 50 to 70K and some benefits.
