7-Senior Project Engineer - Rechargable Energy Storage Systems-ENG0008550Responsible for specifying requirements, execution and evaluation of designs, analysis, development, testing and control of major engineering projects where creativity and initiative are involved as well as a high level of independent judgment. Exercises technical direction over other engineers or engineering support personnel and may have work direction responsibilities over a group with specific engineering objectives. Responsible for component design, requirement specification, execution and evaluation of supplier designs for battery pack mechanical hardware components and systems. Requires strong program management skills and leadership. Execute part/sub-system releases for production (Engineering Work Orders and Problem Reporting and Tracking System). Experience coordinating designer (UniGraphics) activities. Coordinate vehicle integration activities. Experience working with vehicle platform teams and coordinating actions of automotive suppliers.Consults with supervisor as required.* Generates technical solutions for current, new and major programs* Provides technical leadership for advanced technology development* Performs complex design analysis* Develops engineering designs (including subsystems)* Implements engineering changes* Specifies and balances system requirements* Plans and implements test and/or development programs* Releases parts and subsystems for production* Communicates, coordinates, and consults with engineering departments and customers* Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products* Travels as requiredQualifications* Requires strong program management skills and leadership.* Experience coordinating designer (UniGraphics) activities.* Experience working with vehicle platform teams and coordinating actions of automotive suppliers.* High level of oral and written communication skills* Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms* Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required* Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals* Specific knowledge of engineering discipline (e.g. mechanics, physics, metallurgy, manufacturing methods, electronics, software, control systems) within job-related area* High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex* High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others* Knowledge of engineering software and systems as it pertains to job-related area* Four or more years experience in job-related area* Candidate should have one of the following engineering degrees: BSE, BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aeronautical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics, Materials EngineeringPrimary LocationUS-MI-WarrenPosting Date:Feb 22, 2010 Apr 23, 2010
