Ultra Electronics, Nuclear Sensors & Process Instrumentation (NSPI) seeks an experienced Registered Professional Engineer to support current business and future market opportunities primarily in the commercial nuclear power market.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement a quality assurance program including revising existing, and creating new procedures required by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) for Nuclear Accreditation/Certification in particular Code Symbol Stamp NPT (Nuclear Partials)
· Perform mechanical engineering functions related to the development and production of process sensors and instruments including pressure boundary items such as thermowells, sensor bodies, pressure transmitters and accessories.
· Activities include engineering evaluation of the design, design analysis, design qualification, producing design reports and drawings, interfacing with suppliers and customers.
· Create and certify design reports in accordance with the rules of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel (BP&V) Code, Section III, Subsection NCA, General Requirements for Divisions 1, 2 and 3, as well as the specific requirements of other applicable Subsections.
· Activities are conducted in a concurrent team environment with significant interaction with engineering, quality assurance, production, management, and other members of the team.
· Administrative tasks include defining program and project tasks, schedules, budgets and periodic assessment of program progress via written and oral presentation to colleagues and management.
Desired Background and Skill Requirements
· Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Degree - MSME is desirable,
· Candidates must have a demonstrated knowledge in the commercial nuclear power or process industry working in a design or modification organization,
· Registered Professional Engineer in at least one state of the United states or Province of Canada,
· ASME Code knowledge and experience: at least 4 years of varied application experience in design and analysis of applicable items,
· Working knowledge of Code requirements for materials, design, fabrication, examination and testing,
· Knowledge of the General Requirements of Subsection NCA,
· General broad engineering design experience in a manufacturing environment,
· Prior commercial nuclear engineering experience for components such as thermowells, pumps, valves, seals, is a desirable asset,
· Some previous field experience in power or process plants is desirable,
· Must be a US Citizen,
· Good communication skills (verbal and written), and
· Professionalism and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
