Job Title: Senior Mechanical EngineerCompany: Arup North America, Ltd.Location: Seattle, WASenior Mechanical Engineer (10-0191)DUTIES: Act as a lead project mechanical engineer for large, multi-disciplinary building engineering projects. Lead project teams. Design all aspects of plumbing, heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning systems, including ductwork design, air distribution systems, hydronic systems design, steam system design, compressed air systems, waste and vent systems, fire protections systems, control systems design, and smoke control/life safety systems design. Incorporate sustainable design methods and systems in project design and analysis, including preparation of LEED submissions for USGBC review. Preparing project design documents, including drawings, project material and equipment specifications, and code compliance. Perform system design calculations, including building envelope analyses. Perform system analyses, including energy and life cycle cost analyses and the preparation of such project reports. Selection and specification of mechanical equipment. Coordination of own work with other in-house and external disciplines, architecture, and project requirements. Managing multi-disciplinary project teams, including client relations and team motivation. Attending meetings with architects, owners, contractors, and governing officials. Communicating with architects, owners, contractors, and governing officials to determine project requirements, discuss project related design, technical and management issues, and resolve problems. Oversee and manage project financial performance; Provide construction administration services including site observations, preparing field reports, reviewing shop drawings and submissions.REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field followed by 10 years post baccalaureate progressive experience in the job offered or related occupations. Experience and/or education must include: 1. laboratory systems design; 2. hospital and health care systems design; 3. high rise building systems design; 4. clean room system design; 5. steam systems design; 6. professional mechanical engineering registration.How to ApplyPlease send resume to: Arup, S.
