Responsibilities

Stantec in Toronto - Wellington office has an immediate opening for a Senior Buildings Project Manager. The successful candidate will lead a multi discipline team of design professionals through the design and construction phases of large commercial and institutional building projects. The Project Manager is expected to display an attitude of motivational leader ship with respect to overall project management activities. As the Senior Project Manager you will be assisting the PCML in expanding and developing the tools and processes unique to our branch of design. Other responsibilities include:Prepare project work plans.Define project scope, deliverables, team and schedule.Engage, manage and motivate project team.Delegate design responsibilities at project onset.Communicate project objectives, plan and context to staff.Coordinate technical tasks and production deliverables.Plan and execute project team meetings.Schedule and record client meetings.Identify, communicate and implement scope deviations to client and project team.Communicate with client regarding project specifics.Monitor project financial and schedule performance.Project invoicing. Prepare monthly project status reports.Ensure compliance with Stantec’s QA/QC requirements.Provide feedback to team and discipline leads on staff performance.QualificationsGraduate of a technical college or degree program.A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the building construction or design industry with at least 5 years project management experienceExperience with large institutional projects preferred.PMP designation will be a definite asset.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proven team leader and motivator with an aptitude for facilitation.Aptitude for client service role.Sound working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of office products.Works closely with Building Engineering Sector Leaders, Discipline Leaders, and Team Leads.Coordination with Architects and End User Clients.Qualified candidates who are highly motivated and eager to commit to Stantec's strategic initiative to become a Top 10 global design firm should submit their resume and cover letter.
