Primary Purpose
Provide engineering related design, analysis, and studies for domestic or international projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Support the performance of renewable energy projects covering multiple technologies. Areas of emphasis may include: multidisciplinary renewable energy portfolios including solar, biomass, wind, geothermal, hydro, and ocean technologies. The position will involve a wide variety of diverse assignments including: solar incentive program administration, business process improvement, renewable resource assessment, data analysis, computer model development, database development, programming, GIS analysis, new technology evaluation, project proposal evaluation, and performance monitoring. A key component of the job will be leveraging existing tools and databases across a variety of common platforms, and creating new IT applications to solve business problems. The position will entail interaction with clients including: utilities, energy project developers, financial institutions, energy end-users, investors, government agencies, and other organizations. Essential responsibilities will include: lead and contribute to authorship of reports, studies, and proposals. Develop technical specifications, project schedules and budget estimates in response to project requirements. Develop technical and economic models of renewable energy projects and technologies. Coordinate work with others in multi-disciplinary teams. Identify and understand client issues, and work collaboratively to develop and communicate creative solutions. Manage data and prepare periodic analysis updates. Develop and improve applications.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business or related degree from either an ABET accredited program in the USA or its foreign equivalent. Must have the Professional Engineer (PE) license in the USA or be in active pursuit of such registration if not already registered* or foreign registration, if available, which is accepted as valid in the home country or the country in which the individual is practicing, or active pursuit of registration acceptable in the country of practice*. Minimum of 5 year's of experience performing engineering related duties in renewable energy project. Also experience in computer software programming in the areas of, but not limited to Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), database queries, HTML, JavaScript and other major web-site development languages. Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience delivering business-level, database-driven, web-based software products with robust user interface and scalability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly through formal reports, presentations, memoranda and email. Must be able to function equally well in collaborative, multi-discipline teams, and self-directed independent assignments. Must be self-motivated, with an ability to balance multiple projects while working under tight deadlines. Should have excellent IT skills and knowledge of network infrastructure but with a desire to participate in broader project issues. Should have an interest in conventional energy and renewable energy technologies. Should have an interest in developing solutions from scratch.Monte Carlo analysis preferred, but not required.
