General Purpose
- Manages people and competences in a Mechanics line to reach set targets.
- Responsible for mechanics resource and competence planning and development for the site portfolio needs.
- Manages people in an organizational unit; competence area, project, program or cost centre. Has individual responsibility for goal setting; operations; resourcing; results and competence development of the unit/area/centre/project/program as a whole. Is responsible for the implementation of a project portfolio within the scope of responsibility. Has short/mid term planning (up to 6 - 12months time frame) responsibility for the unit/ area/centre.
- Participates in formulating the strategy for the unit/area/project/program or centre and is responsible for implementing it.
Main Responsibility Area
-Identifies ways to improve the operation of own area and to achieve efficiencies and results.
-Provides technical leadership/management skills in own functional/program area to execute projects, allocate work to others and oversee quality.
-Establishes short term plans to achieve broader functional or cross functional objectives.
-Provides leadership for product development teams
-Typically >50% of time individually contribute to local technology management, supplier capability improvement, engineering capability improvement or operational improvement.
Scope
-Own mechanics line. Input to Site mechanics. Local program and concepting mechanics design. Networks with other NWP sites.
-Clear managerial responsibilities for people. Interprets policies.
-Ensures existing plans are put into operation. Executes and/or oversees processes to meet customer needs. Responsible for analysis, design & development of policies, plans, programs. Acts with independence and discretion. Develops appropriate solutions.
Impact
-Impact is short-term through individual and team contributions.
-Accountable for quality, accuracy and efficiency of own and team achievements. Actions and errors can have program, project or functional impact.
Qualifications
-Proven +8 years track record in mobile device mechanics engineering.
-Broad understanding of mechanics technologies.
-Solid understanding of Nokia mechanics R&D procesess and way of working.
-Basic Catia and Smarteam skills.
-Leadership and management experience in leading mechanics design team or team of technology specialists.
-Good experience from operational development planning and practical implemenation to mechanics daily work with good results.
-Good interpersonal and communication skills.
