As has been previously announced, Wacker Chemie AG is considering the construction of a polysilicon plant in the Cleveland/Bradley County area of TN. This project is still contingent upon final Executive and Supervisory Board approvals. At the present time, Wacker is starting the employment recruiting process for key employment positions related to the preparation and in-depth analysis of this project.
In this position, you will provide project engineering and project management services in the field of process engineering related to industrial utility systems for a large capital investment project. Responsibilities and duties include project scope development; process design and engineering throughout all project phases; project management; construction management; commissioning and start-up assistance. After completion of the initial project, candidate is expected to transition into an engineering position within the local engineering and maintenance organization.
In the early phase of the project (Q1 2011 up to Q3 2011) extended business travel to Wacker’s site in Burghausen, Germany will be required in order to become familiar with the project and process specifics and to integrate with the project team.
Due to schedule and milestone requirements (e.g., commissioning, start-up and/or shut-down) non-standard work schedule such as nights, holidays and/or weekends may be required.
To qualify, you'll need a minimum Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 5+ years of professional experience related to industrial utility systems such as wastewater, cooling water, steam and condensate, compressed air and gases, etc., in a project, operations or maintenance environment is required. Project management experience is beneficial. Registration as a Professional Engineering in the state of TN is beneficial. Basic German language skills are beneficial.
