The Product Development Engineer will assist the Product Development and Design teams by defining specifications necessary to meet the aesthetic and functional objectives of Tiffany & Co.'s new products.

Using solid modeling software, the qualified candidate will perform engineering, designing, modeling, drawing, rendering, and CAD file modification functions for new products. Define specifications to assure fit and function of the designed form. Serve as the Product Development Engineering representative on cross-functional project teams. Assist Project Management teams in transferring of the CAD files and other technical communication between Product Development and the vendor. Perform rapid prototype setup using Thermojet, Invision, and Dimension prototyping systems, as well as aiding in various projects using 3D scanning equipment. Additional responsibilities will include completing engineering section of product approval sign-off documents for all external vendor projects, overseeing the measurement of all new product and test-runs, and assisting in the Engineering Change Notification (ECN) projects that require modification of technical specifications.

A Bachelors degree in Engineering is required (BS in Mechanical Engineering is preferred). Three to five years in an engineering role with proficiency in the use of solid modeling software and a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office are a must. The qualified candidate will have effective communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as a team at all levels. Must be able to interpret scientific and technical documents. Additional preferred requirements include CAD/CAM experience, industry certification, knowledge of MRP software, and manufacturing knowledge of jewelry, small appliances or other related industry.
