A leading manufacturer and distributor of various pumps and related products is looking for a dynamic, energized and innovative senior product design engineer who is creative and loves to engineer and develop products. Product development, marketing and sales center is located in Dallas, TX with factory located in China.

Job Description: Senior Production Design/Mechanical Engineer Job

• Design and develop new complete products, specifically new pumps and related products based on fractional horsepower motors and fluid mechanical principles.
• Work with various materials and components such as engineered plastics, motors, filters, controllers, electronics, switches and sensing systems.
• Design experiments and tests to prove out new designs and life expectancy.
• Perform FMEAs, First Article, KPIs and other processes.
• Many projects include OEM applications involving interface with customers’ engineering teams.
• Seek innovation through work with customers, sales, and suppliers.
• Manage project from concept to implementation.
• Work with engineering staff in China
• Self-motivated, takes initiative, self-learner.
• Works closely with Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality functions to ensure that projects are optimally completed and implemented.

Requirements:

• Ten or more years experience in design, engineering, and product development.
• BS in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Proficient in solid modeling and 2D drawings.
• Proven experience/success in plastics, tooling, motors, and simple controllers. Specific background in permanent magnet motors, wet rotor/synchronous motors; and engineered plastic materials and mold design a plus.
• Project management skills with proven success in meeting deadlines, budgets, and product requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, team and communication skills.
• Able to travel up to 25%.
• Experience travelling to and working with engineers and suppliers in China a plus.
• Hands on experience working with UL or similar electrical agencies a plus.
• Lean, six-sigma training a plus.
