DescriptionPosition Description:- Transform Frito Lay's supply chain system by enabling world class system performance by developing the control systems, the department HMI technologies, and MES system- Collaborate with the R&D product development group to development new manufacturing process that drives improved product quality and Operational productivity- Research and develop controls and information systems that support the manufacturing processes and technologies functional and technical requirements- Develop the unique production visualization and performance management functionality requirements for all of Frito Lay's product and packages- Support the deployment of the new control & information system technology, department wide HMI, and plant wide MES across the Frito Lay manufacturing enterprise- Integrate technical, cost, value, and safety considerations into the control and information system to comply with performance requirements- Work with multi-discipline teams for scale up and commercialization of new products or productivity initiatives (Engineering, R&D, Marketing, Sales, Finance and Operations) that leverages the new control new information system technologies- Develop strategies for controls and information system field capability and support methodologies- Manage projects to ensure schedule, cost, and quality on aggressive timelines- Lead outside vendors, contractors and engineers to develop, validate, and implement initiativesKey Responsibilities:- Identify & develop new approaches to process controls, production performance management and visualization that provide a competitive performance advantage- Provide specification development including performance requirements for the sourcing, development, and implementation of technology from external vendors- Develop control and information system integration requirements to meet the needs of the various product and packages designs- Apply system modeling and validation techniques in development, evaluation, and validation of the rollout of the integrated control and information system- Participate in/lead technical team of colleagues and vendors to accomplish project/program objectives- Develop and deploy new control & information system technologies to other colleagues across the company- Closely work with external vendors and consultants to perform proof of principle tests, customize and drive design for full scale application, perform factory acceptance tests, and operational working solutionsRequirements:Minimum Job Requirements:- Flexibility, agility, and technical curiosity with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, aggressive, results-oriented culture- BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering with a process control development & information system focus- Expertise control system design with HMI and MES system integration experience- Experience in practical application and design of control and information systems for manufacturing. Consumer Products industry experience preferred- Knowledgeable of the industry standard network protocols and the ISA 88/95 software structure standards- Familiarity with modeling & simulation tools (i.e. Extend, Matlab/Simulink)- Superior team building and communications skills to work with all levels of the organization- Strong technical competencies in the control and information system discipline with solid understanding of practical applications- Experience with the validation and rollout of software systems- Understands and applies industry standard project management methodologies- 5+ years engineering related experience in high speed continuous or discreet manufacturingPreferred Experience:Experience in the following areas is highly desired.- MS in Engineering with a control & information system focus- Knowledge & expertise in controls and IT systems- Statistical quality control (CpK) experience- Experience with Rockwell controls, GE Proficy iFix and Plant Application, and WonderWare InTouch and InSQLJob ID: 27107
