DescriptionProject manager in the PCNA Packaging Technical Services Group, part of Beverage Packaging and Engineering Technology. Lead technical qualifications & troubleshooting programs across the range of package materials (bottles, closures, cans, secondary etc.) used within the PCNA bottling system.- Raw material or supply change approvals.- Capacity expansions initiatives.- Non-marketing-driven item modifications.- Troubleshooting and plant support activities Key Responsibilities:- Actively lead the technical qualification process for changes to component and finished good specifications for all primary packaging items within PCNA.- Includes PET and glass bottles, closures, cans, and can ends, Shrink films, labels and other materials & package formats.- Cross-functional project leadership.- Packaging expertise (lab scale to full production).- Data review and statistical analysis.- Planning and communication skills.- Responsible for ensuring all primary packaging component specifications contain up-to-date information including approved raw materials, supply sites, and design.- Primary contact to Strategic Supply Management and suppliers on proposed primary packaging changes, providing subject matter expertise.- Effective management of external resources to accomplish objectives.- Maintain open communication and build strong relationships with multiple functions.- Department owner of performance standards for primary packaging items. Responsible for technical content updating and field validation of proposed changes.- Develop deep technical understanding of primary package items, production processes, and variables. Support quality troubleshooting and problem solving. Provide technical support for field issue resolution.- Build strong relationships with internal and external partners including suppliers, bottlers, Strategic Supply Management, and R&D Quality.Requirements:Education & Experience:- BS or MS in Packaging Science, Chemical, Mechanical, or Plastics Engineering 5-7 years experience. - Masters in Business or Engineering a plus.- Previous experience in the technical qualification of primary packages.- Effective leader in cross-functional project teams.- Experience in manufacturing processes for beverage packaging.- Experience managing external resources.Other Job Requirements:- Travel mainly in North America, however international travel may be required to meet project and business objectives. 20-30% total.- Occasional weekend travel is normal due to time required to travel to certain locations.j2wr&dJob ID: 27924
