Principal Design Engineer(Electrical Engineering)
Senior Principal Design Engineer/ Staff Engineer in the Design Group your responsibilities will be both as a technical contributor and as an IPT leader on various projects. You will work with engineers, technicians, program managers and administrative personnel to accomplish assigned tasks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Key contributor/lead on electro/mechanical and electronic fuzing programs, managing ones assigned responsibilities and directing the work of junior engineers and technicians to accomplish program goals.• Act as cost account manager on certain assigned projects.• Both accept and provide work direction design to engineers and technicians on assigned projects.• Act as a mentor to junior engineers.• Preparation and planning of cost estimates and written proposals for warhead related efforts.This position will require travel approximately 4 to 8 times per year to meet with various customers, in both government and industry, and to interface with suppliers.Requirements:The applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of direct fuze design expereince. The ideal candidate will also possess the responsibility and integrity to act as a technical contributor on electrical design and development activities. The applicant must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. The applicant must possess the ability to work as a team member on design activities, and also exhibit the ability to act independently for future job growth. The applicant must have the demonstrated ability to plan, schedule and perform to commitments.The applicant must have a working knowledge of Mentor Graphics, SPICE and/or other related software development and simulation tools.This position requires a US Government Security Level of SECRET. (The applicant is not required to have this clearance at the time of hire but must possess a clean background in order to obtain this clearance level when hired. BSEE with a minimum of 15 years of experience in analog/mixed signal design. MSEE desired. Would like the applicant to also have:* Have experience with MicroSoft Office including Project scheduling tool.* Have basic experience in managing budgets and the Earned Value Management System (EVMS).* Have basic experience working with Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Integrated Master Plans (IMP).* Working engineer with experience leading at least 10-20 people.Additional requirements:- Experienced in analog and mixed signal electrical design using latest electronic development and simulation tools;- Experience in Advance/Tech/System development to production programs;- Experience in managing a design team, while controling costs and schedules;- Good communication skills including ability to develop and present technical briefings to management and customers;- Good technical writing skills for new program technical proposals;- Ability to estimate development program costs and schedules.Contact our Human Resources department at 952-351-2852 or via email at corp.vurv@atk.com.
