Candidate must produce highly reliable, lightweight, robust systems that can operate autonomously in the harsh undersea environment. Candidate will also be required to develop Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (UUV) Launch & Recovery systems to be installed on surface & sub-surface vessels. Candidate shall be able to generate detailed designs & perform detailed structural analysis & communicate the information to the lead engineer. Candidate shall have knowledge in subsea material selection, mechanism design and structures design. Candidate shall also have experience with integrating & testing the mechanical systems. Candidate will resolve issues & provide innovative solutions to challenges in the subsea environment. Candidate will interface directly with lead mechanical engineer. Candidate will work within Integrated Product Team (IPT) organization. Candidate will report to the cognizant ATP Chief Program Engineer (CPE) and/or IPT Mechanical Engineering Lead. Boeing's ATP is a business unit which provides creative solutions to undersea systems problems. ATP is the center of excellence in undersea systems engineering, undersea structures, AUV guidance & navigation, user interface & embedded software development for command & control and we perform a full range of systems integration and testing. ATP is currently located at the Boeing Anaheim office but is expected to move to the Boeing Huntington Beach campus in mid 2012. Works under general supervision.CompetenciesGeneral
