Apply knowledge of structural analysis, materials, and related regulatory and qualification requirements in order to collaborate on structural designs of products. Staffs, directs, and advises individuals. Conducts, or has influence upon, the people, budget, and business-related processes for the work group. The work group consists of primarily exempt individuals. The structural analysis manager will coordinate Boeing Philadelphia's Chinook Dynamic Component Stress staff work. The manager is responsible for design, analysis, test, verification and certification with respect to dynamic rotorcraft components (i.e. blades, hubs, controls, drive systems, etc). The manager will be responsible for leading and providing functional direction to a group with the following technical Competencies, including but not limited to: structural engineering, structural materials, composite stress analysis, structural analysis, structural computing, static testing, durability and damage tolerance and sonic testing, flight test, weight and balance guidance, mass properties data, estimates, analysis and optimization etc. Ability to develop, document, implement and improve Engineering and Planning processes through the collection of requirements and best practices. Direct, coach and manage entry level to senior level personnel (SJC and engineering pay codes) with various specialty descriptions and skill codes in accordance with Boeing and Boeing Airplane Services (BAS) policies and procedures. Identify and attain project resources, such as facilities, computing assets, capital assets, and personnel via Boeing Electronic Messaging Service (BEMS) business processes. Responsibilities will also include coordinating with and providing input to the Structural analysis group consisting of the V-22, Tandem Rotors, Engineering Enterprise Support Group (EESG), Core Structural Analysis and Advanced Structural Analysis organizations. Responsibilities include management of cost, schedule, and technical performance of the Chinook Dynamic Component Stress Group.
