Amprius is looking for an experienced, creative and highly motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Platform Development group. We are located in Menlo Park, California near Stanford University, in the heart of Silicon Valley. Backed by top-tier venture capital firms, Amprius' mission is to enable a new generation of electric vehicles by radically improving the energy density of Li-ion batteries. If you're passionate about energy and want to spend the summer solving hard problems with equipment and processes, we'd like to hear from you.
Amprius is currently expanding its team to accelerate the development of platform technologies for lithium ion battery cells. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern who is capable of contributing to projects to bring up and improve equipment and processes for lithium ion battery cells.
Job Responsibilities will include:
- Working with the core development team to design, prototype, and bring up equipment used to produce R&D, pilot, and production scale lithium-ion batteries.
- Design fixtures and tooling to improve and expand production capability.
- Perform experiments to determine optimal process conditions and procedures.
Technical Requirements:
• Design skills including CAD & FEA
• Prototyping experience including machining, assembly and troubleshooting.
• Matlab, .NET, LabView, PLC, or other programming experience a plus.
General Requirements:
• Intellectual curiosity and drive
• “Can-do” attitude with partnership and collaboration skills
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proven ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to translate potentially ambiguous or conflicting data into key insights and recommendations for action
• Willingness to provide and accept help from other team members
