McCormick & Co., Inc., a world leader in the spice, flavor & seasonings industry, is seeking a full time Maintenance Manager in its Consumer Products Hunt Valley Plant (HVP) located at 11000 McCormick Road in Hunt Valley, MD. This Maintenance Manager will report to the Hunt Valley Plant’s Engineering & Maintenance Manager.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Maintenance Manager will directly manage Process Technicians and Team Managers and indirectly manage Work Leaders, Preventive and Utility Line Mechanics, Electricians and other skilled employees involved with the maintenance of the plant’s processing areas and packaging lines. This position supports overlapping small team improvements within a High Performance Work System (HPWS) environment. The primary focus of the Maintenance Manager is to significantly improve the reliability of all packaging machinery systems, as well as dry blending and some processing systems.

LEADERSHIP DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plans, develops, and implements methods and procedures designed to reduce supply chain losses in both packaging and some processing departments, minimizes operating costs, and optimizes the utilization of technicians, materials and assets.
• Partners with manufacturing teams to deliver production and quality objectives.
• Provides technical expertise to increase the number of zero breakdown machines, reduce breakdown reoccurrences and increase Mean Time between Failure (MTBF).
• Drives maintenance pillar best practices and effective participation in innovation activities and the journey to vertical start-ups.
• Coordinates maintenance and improvement learning’s by gathering and maintaining knowledge from “outside in” experiences.
• Coordinates processes to develop and train maintenance, manufacturing technicians and Team Managers.
• Supports the TPM processes with technical resources and coaching to improve plant reliability (PR %).

OPERATING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinates the Effective Maintenance (EM) process and technician resources to deliver reliable maintenance processes, including 5S, Visual Factory and spare parts inventories for all new equipment and modifications.
• Drives improvements during equipment changes to deliver new procedures, breakdown reduction, root cause analysis, risks and hazards analysis toolkits and manages reoccurrence tracking processes.
• Maintains an integrated maintenance master plan utilizing quantitative information consistent with business goals.
• Provides coordination of support services for machining, welding, pipefitting and miscellaneous contracted services, excluding facilities
• Supports development of the Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Early Equipment Management (EEM) processes.
• Works with other support processes - Safety (S), Quality (QM), and Training Learning & Education (TLE), Continuous Improvement (CI) to comply with Safety, Good Housekeeping, GMP’s, Quality and related Regulatory requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturing industry
• Minimum 8 years of experience delivering reliability improvements in a fast changing packaging machinery manufacturing environment
• Experience managing packaging machinery maintenance teams
• Experience working with the Effective Maintenance (EM) TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) process in a GMP / FDA production environment
• Applied working knowledge of time, condition and predictive based maintenance processes
• Demonstrated competency managing Technicians who are experienced primarily in packaging machinery, electrical, and PLC programming in a consumer products plant
• Experience with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
• Experience managing P.M. (preventative maintenance) practices
• Experience coaching, mentoring, motivating and managing employees’ skills development using training matrices
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours across three shifts as needed to meet business demands

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree focus in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering
• Food and/or beverage processing industry experience
• Experience supporting autonomous manufacturing teams as they deliver continuous improvements
• Experience working with the Autonomous Maintenance TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Pillar in a GMP / FDA production environment, preferred
• Working knowledge of the related TPM processes - Focused Improvement, Early Equipment Management and Training
• Experience proactively leading and coaching teams to solve problems, utilizing automatic line monitoring and other reliability improvement processes
• Experience with shop floor / information systems (i.e. PC, PLC, and/or Robotics)
• Working knowledge of Analytical Process Mapping
• Experience setting business targets to drive and sustain continuous loss reductions
• Demonstrated organizational skills providing support to multiple supply chain teams
• Experience with SAP, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint
