In this position you will be responsible for overseeing the development of all new products from Product Brief handoff to the product’s transition to mass production. You will serve as the link between multiple active projects, the different phases of an individual project and various people involved at those times. In addition, you will take ownership of the development of the processes and tools necessary to support the product development cycle and the growth anticipated within it.br /

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:br /
• General Engineering Departmentbr /
Take ownership of New Product Development Process/Structure from the product brief handoff to transition to mass production period within the product development cyclebr /
- Process Standardization – Develop a complete and functional Design Manual that will standardize both the processes and tools used throughout the segment of the product development cycle defined abovebr /
- Product Standardization – Develop a complete and functional set of Design Guidelines that will direct the development of new product expanding on known technologybr /
Take ownership of all internal testing programs br /
• Laboratory Testingbr /
• Manage all personnel involved – Laboratory Technicians/Engineersbr /
• Maintain Program Budgetbr /
• Oversee and direct the development of the processes and tools necessary to fully qualify new product against defined design requirementsbr /
• Field Testingbr /
• Manage all personnel involved – Field Testing Coordinatorsbr /
• Maintain Program Budgetbr /
• Take ownership of the development and continuous improvement of the processes and tools necessary to fully qualify new product in accurate field environmentsbr /
Facilitate the transfer of project ownership to Manufacturing and Quality at the end of the product development cyclebr /
Support the development and growth of the design team and other design engineersbr /
Provide clear definition and communication of project prioritization br /

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:br /
• Superior judgmentbr /
• High level of ownershipbr /
• Team oriented, flexible, and open mindedbr /
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Outlookbr /
• General PC proficiencybr /
• Excellent diplomacy skills—written and oral are required. br /
• Experience in Asian manufacturing and travel a plusbr /
• Experience in sporting goods design and manufacturingbr /
• Knowledgeable in processes for plastic injection molding, part decoration, and small metal partsbr /
• Management experiencebr /
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Accessbr /
• Solidworks proficiency is a plusbr /
• Extremely good at detail planning and executionbr /
• Highly organizedbr /
• Ideally would have a passion for the outdoors and related activitiesbr /

Physical Demands:br /

Primarily sedentary work with occasional standing, walking, lifting, moving, and traveling to other departments or work area. Requires ability to use hands, fingers and arms for keyboarding, filing, telephone work, and operating office equipment greater than 75% of the time. Requires ability to push, pull, move and/or lift up to 10-20 lbs 0-25% of the time. Also requires:br /

1. Working in a standard on-site business office environment br /
2. Continuous use of PC equipment including keyboard, mouse, and printerbr /
