No Security Clearance Required (https://jobs.boeing.com/help/glossary.html#security_clearance">about security clearance definitions)Position DescriptionAs a part of Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), these multiple positions exist throughout the Washington State Puget Sound area (e.g., Everett to Puyallup) to work on Boeing 737, 747, 767, 777 and 787 model aircraft. Interns serve under supervision for a specified period within the occupation and skill area that directly relates to their college engineering degree. As a Summer Intern you will be called upon to work manufacturing fabrication and application issues related to the shop floor, with all work being mentored by a senior engineer. This role is a cross commodity function. You will work closely with Manufacturing and appropriate support organizations to make or initiate process changes and improvements to meet or exceed internal/external customer requirements. This will include working with other engineering groups to evaluate and initiate materials and standard part and process changes in order to support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, and cost savings in design and fabrication. Job includes hands on experience with various manufacturing disciplines.CompetenciesThese positions require educational credentials meeting the classification standards for students that are pursuing a degree as listed in the ABET web site, http://www.abet.org/htm.; preferably degrees in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or other ABET with a strong background in Manufacturing and Mechanical discipline skills.

Top candidates will have attained junior or senior status by 6/11 with a GPA of 3.0 or above
