Reporting to the Power Sector Leader for the US, and working closely with the leadership of the industrial practices, you will be the driving force to develop project opportunities in Renewable energy. You will also work closely with others responsible for thermal and gas generation and transmission and distribution. *This role can be located out of Canada or the US; 25% to 50% travel will be required for this role.*
Responsibilities
Reporting to the US Power Sector Leader, the Director of Renewable Energy Projects will be responsible for coordinating with the practice area Marketing & Business Development staff and assisting in developing new and existing Power Sector clients. These responsibilities will require excellent communication, and close collaboration with the leadership of the various subsector, practice leaders and PCs. Some of the specific responsibilities related to the above include:Work closely with subsector leaders to expand the scope of services currently provided to our top clients, helping to grow the Company organically. By truly understanding the market sectors that our clients do business in and building trusted partnerships with our clients, the Director will help focus our organization around sectors and top clients, helping to position Stantec for greater future success.Assist in the preparation of Sub-Sector plan and Account Plans that will develop and implement win strategies for sustaining and growing revenue across the Industrial Practice Area.Personally pursue and lead significant transformational projects within the sub-sector.Update and issue account management plans for Sub-Sector.Recruit and retain sub-sector specific experts.Lead and manage business development efforts and budgets.Qualifications20 years’ experience in the planning and development of thermal and renewable energy projects.Thorough understanding of the commercial issues related to development of generation projects.Ability to support clients in understanding the environmental, permitting and technical issues related to the development of generating projects. Key functions include Energy Assessments, Preliminary Engineering, Environmental Policy, Permitting, Site Suitability, GIS Mapping, Estimates of Probable Capital Cost and Landowner Lease Administration.Responsible for management of business development opportunities, analysis of market and new business prospects. Assist in the preparation of proposals and participate in client negotiations.
