Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a successful Design Engineer to join our Customer Support Group in Cypress, CA. This is a great opportunity for an individual provide support to the CSG Engineering department in the design of accessory components for Yamaha Products.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Design 3D model & 2D drawings for new components under the guidance of a Development Engineer (CAD Modeling /Drafting).
• Create Bill of Materials (BOM) for new components which is the “build recipe” for the parts need to build the components
• Assist in checking prototype parts on unit to ensure that the parts are made properly and that the design is correct
• Interact with suppliers as needed regarding necessary design information to manufacture components most cost effectively
• Assist in establishing design criteria which will ensure a cost effective product which meets Yamaha performance, quality and reliability requirements
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize changing work loads
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
• BSME (Mechanical Engineering) preferred or 3-5 years of engineering experience in the Power Sports industry.
• Must have 3-5 years of 3D modeling experience, preferably Pro-Engineer
• 1-2 years of surfacing experience with Pro-Surface and ISDX a plus
• Design experience with the following manufacturing processes: Machining, Sheet metal, Tube bending, Casting, Molded parts (plastic) & Welding
• Must have experience with ANSI Y14.5, GD&T & Tolerance Stack-up (CAD/Drafting)
• Must possess excellent engineering judgment and analysis
• Fabrication skills a plus
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and CAD modeling experience in Motorsports preferred
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
