7- Battery Pack Supplier Contact Engineer-ENG0008569Responsible for component design, requirement specification, execution and evaluation of supplier designs for battery pack hardware components and systems. Requires strong program management skills and leadership. Coordinate vehicle integration activities. Duties include supplier design reviews, design validation and approval, pre-production part scheduling and coordination, pre-production build support and problem solving (at supplier), battery CAB approvals and tracking, engineering budgeting, supplier ED&D management, program imperative tracking and reporting.* Execute part/sub-system releases for production (E2 and PRTS)* Coordinate designer (UniGraphics) activities* Interface with vehicle integration group at MPG* Work with vehicle platform teams and coordinate design/validation tasks with automotive suppliers* Generate technical solutions for EV battery packs* Provide technical leadership for advanced technology development* Perform complex design analysis at both component/system level* Develop engineering designs (including subsystems)* Implement engineering changes* Specifie and balances system requirements* Plan and implement test and/or development programs* Communicate, coordinate, and consult with other engineering departments and outside suppliers* Stay abreast of new technology and competitive products* Travel as requiredQualificationsBasic Required:* Experience working with vehicle platform teams and coordinating actions of automotive suppliers.* High level of oral and written communication skills* Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms* Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required* Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals* High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex* High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others* Knowledge of engineering software and systems as it pertains to job-related area* Four or more years experience in job-related area* Candidate should have one of the following engineering degrees: BSE, BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical EngineeringPrimary LocationUS-MI-WarrenPosting Date:Feb 22, 2010 Apr 23, 2010
