7- Battery Electrical Component Engineer-ENG0008570Responsible for developing engineering solutions for battery electrical components, requirement specification, execution and evaluation of battery pack electrical hardware. Requires strong program management skills and leadership. Duties include benchmarking HV electrical components in and outside of battery pack, new technology evaluation and validation, project management and expense tracking. Responsible for specifying requirements, execution and evaluation of designs, analysis, development, testing and control of major engineering projects where creativity and initiative are involved as well as a high level of independent judgment.Exercises technical direction over other engineers or engineering support personnel and may have work direction responsibilities over a group with specific engineering objectives. Consults with supervisor as required.* Generates technical solutions for current, new and major programs* Provides technical leadership for advanced technology development* Performs complex design analysis* Develops engineering designs (including subsystems)* Implements engineering changes* Specifies and balances system requirements* Plans and implements test and/or development programs* Releases parts and subsystems for production* Communicates, coordinates, and consults with engineering departments and customers* Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products* Travels as requiredQualificationsBasic Required:* Past experience in HV wiring, sensors and connectors, data communication required.* High level of oral and written communication skills* Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms* Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required* Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals* High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex* High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others* Knowledge of engineering software and systems as it pertains to job-related area* Four or more years experience in job-related area* Candidate should have one of the following engineering degrees: BSE, BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical EngineeringBasic Preferred:* Knowledge of high voltage electrical systems and test equipment, electronic controls, cell balancing, battery system performance and data communication is a plus* Knowledge in GATS database and Advanced Technology Work (ATW) process is a plus.Primary LocationUS-MI-WarrenPosting Date:Feb 22, 2010 Apr 23, 2010
